چکیده
The problem of global warming is still a major issue, alongside shrinking oil reserves. A great alternative to fossil fuels offered by biofuels, such as bioethanol from lignocellulosic plants. sorghum biomass can be effectively used in many industrial directions. It possible use every part this plant; the grain for food production and straw energy purposes, i.e., bioethanol. aim study was analyze possibilities five varieties biomass, which waste product seed harvesting. yields cultivars three-year vegetation period; amount cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin sorghum; ethanol obtained per hectare were evaluated. observed that highest average yield all cultivars, except GK Emese, found second year study. Sweet Caroline 9.48 m3∙ha−1. In addition, significant differences content hemicellulose tested years cellulose first third years. discussed results confirmed detailed statistical analyses, including combined matrices Pearson correlation coefficients (crp) cluster analysis. summary, usefulness studied demonstrated.

High efficiency power production from biomass and waste
Two-stage gasification allows power production from biomass and waste with high efficiency. The process involves pyrolysis at about 550°C followed by heating of the pyrolysis gas to about 1300°C in order to crack hydrocarbons and obtain syngas, a mixture of H2, CO, H2O and CO2. The second stage produces soot as unwanted by-product. Experimental results are reported on the suppression of soot fo...
متن کاملKinetics of Bioethanol Production from Waste Sorghum Leaves Using Saccharomyces cerevisiae BY4743
Kinetic models for bioethanol production from waste sorghum leaves by Saccharomyces cerevisiae BY4743 are presented. Fermentation processes were carried out at varied initial glucose concentrations (12.5–30.0 g/L). Experimental data on cell growth and substrate utilisation fit the Monod kinetic model with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.95. A maximum specific growth rate (μmax) and Mon...
متن کاملPolyhydroxyalkanoates production from waste biomass
Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) is a group of biopolymers that are extensively researched for such purpose due to the biocompatibility with mammal tissue and similar properties with conventional plastic. However, commercialization of PHA is impended by its high total production cost, which half of it are from the cost of pure carbon source feedstock. Thus, cheap and sustainable feedstocks are pref...

The consumption of bioethanol as biofule may reduce greenhouse gases, gasoline imports. Also it can be replaced with lead or MTBE (Methyl tert-butyl ether) that are air and underground water pollutants, respectively. Plants are the best choice for meeting the projected bioethanol demands. For this scope, a comparative analysis of the technological options using different feedstocks should be pe...
